How to schedule social media posts with Claude

By Alex, Founder, KreatorMesh · Published 6 September 2026 · Updated 5 October 2026

Claude writes good posts, but on its own it cannot reach your accounts: it has no way to log in to TikTok or Instagram, and it should not. What it can do is use a connector — a small, separate service you approve once — that publishes on your behalf. Connectors are built on MCP, the Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets an AI assistant call tools in other apps. This guide shows the exact setup in Claude and in Claude Code, what Claude can do once connected, prompts that work, and the mistakes that trip people up. The connector in the examples is KreatorMesh, which we make; the last section lists other tools that offer one.

TL;DR

  • In Claude: Customize → Connectors → + Add → Add custom connector, then paste https://api.kreatormesh.com/api/mcp and click Connect.
  • In Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http kreatormesh https://api.kreatormesh.com/api/mcp, then run /mcp to sign in.
  • Sign in to KreatorMesh and click Allow. No API key to copy; you can disconnect any time from the API Keys page.
  • Works on every Claude plan, including Free (one custom connector). On KreatorMesh it needs the Creator plan ($29/mo) or Pro.
  • Give a time zone with every scheduled time, attach video as a public link rather than a file in the chat, and choose who can see a TikTok post.

Step by step

  1. 1

Connect your social accounts in KreatorMesh first

Claude can only post where KreatorMesh is already connected, so start there: sign in at kreatormesh.com, open Connections, and connect each account you want Claude to reach. MCP access comes with the Creator and Pro plans. If your plan does not include it, the sign-in page in the next steps says so rather than failing quietly.

  2. 2

    Add the connector in Claude

In Claude on the web or in the desktop app, go to Customize → Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector. Name it KreatorMesh and paste https://api.kreatormesh.com/api/mcp as the server URL. Leave the authentication settings as Claude detects them and click Add. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http kreatormesh https://api.kreatormesh.com/api/mcp in your project instead.

  3. 3

    Sign in and click Allow

Click Connect (in Claude Code, run /mcp). A KreatorMesh page opens and shows which app is asking and where the approval will be sent. Sign in if you are not already and click Allow. Claude receives a token that works only for this connector — it cannot open the KreatorMesh app or create API keys — and you can remove it at any time from kreatormesh.com/api-keys under Connected apps.

  4. 4

Turn it on in a conversation

In Claude, connectors are switched on per conversation: click the + button at the lower left, open Connectors and turn KreatorMesh on. Then check it works by asking: “Which accounts do I have connected in KreatorMesh?” Claude should list them. An access-token date in the past is normal where the answer says it renews automatically.

  5. 5

    Draft, then check the draft

Ask for the post the way you would ask a person: “Write three openings for a TikTok about editing on a phone, then check each against my hook rules for that account.” The check compares a caption with the rules KreatorMesh has learned from hook tests on your own audience. If you have not run a test yet there are no rules, and the check says so instead of inventing advice.

  6. 6

Schedule it, with a time zone

Say the day, the time and your time zone: “Schedule the second one to my TikTok and Instagram for Thursday at 6 pm Lagos time.” Claude converts that into the exact time KreatorMesh needs. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest need a video or image, given as a public https link to the file. For TikTok, Claude will ask who can see the post — public, friends or only you — because TikTok requires you to choose. Leave the time out and the post is saved as a draft instead.

  7. 7

Review what is queued and how it did

Claude can read as well as write. “What is scheduled this week?” lists drafts and scheduled posts, so it does not repeat something already queued. “Cancel Thursday’s post” deletes one that has not gone out (it refuses posts already published, or ones that belong to a running hook test). “How did last week’s posts do?” returns views, likes, comments and shares per platform, and “How is my link in bio doing?” reports your page’s visits and taps.

Mistakes that trip people up

Asking for an account that is not connected

Claude can only post where KreatorMesh is connected. If it says no account matches, connect it in KreatorMesh, then ask Claude to list your accounts again.

Attaching the video to the chat

A file you upload into Claude is not a link the platform can fetch. Put the video somewhere that gives a direct public https link to the file, and give Claude that link.

A time with no time zone

“Tomorrow at 9” means different things in Lagos and in Los Angeles. Say the time zone every time, or Claude has to guess.

Text-only posts to video platforms

Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest need media on every post, so a caption on its own is refused. X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky and Google Business accept text alone.

Posting to TikTok as private, then expecting numbers

Only public TikTok posts can be measured, so private posts show no performance and cannot be part of a hook test.

Forgetting to switch the connector on

In Claude, connectors are turned on per conversation. If Claude says it cannot reach KreatorMesh, check the + button → Connectors first.

Putting an API key in a shared project file

In Claude Code, --scope project writes the setup to .mcp.json, which is usually committed to git. Use the sign-in (no key needed) or keep a key in the local or user scope.

Trusting a draft check with no tests behind it

Rules come from your own hook tests. With none run yet, the check has nothing to compare against — run a test before relying on it.

Without a connector

Without a connector, Claude is still useful as a writer: ask it for a caption per platform — a short title for YouTube Shorts, a first line that works without “more” for TikTok and Instagram — then copy each into the platform’s app or your scheduler. Expect five to ten minutes per post across three platforms, most of it copying, pasting and setting times.

What the connector adds is not the writing. It is that Claude can see what is already scheduled, check a draft against what has worked on your audience, set the time, and read back how the post did — so the next request starts from results rather than from a blank chat.

If you use a tool that cannot sign in with OAuth, or you are writing a script, use an API key instead: create one at kreatormesh.com/api-keys and send it as Authorization: Bearer km_live_… on each request to the same address. Treat it like a password; it acts as you.

Other tools you can connect to Claude

Frequently asked questions

Can Claude post to social media by itself?

No. Claude has no access to your accounts. It can only publish through a connector you add and approve, such as KreatorMesh, and you can disconnect it at any time.

Does this work on the free Claude plan?

Yes. Anthropic’s help centre says custom connectors work on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, with Free limited to one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise an owner adds the connector first, then each person connects their own account.

Do I need an API key?

No. Clicking Connect signs you in to KreatorMesh and asks you to approve, and Claude gets a token that only works for the connector. An API key is the alternative for tools that cannot sign in that way, and for scripts.

Which platforms can Claude post to through KreatorMesh?

TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, Bluesky and Google Business Profile — every account you have connected in KreatorMesh.

Can Claude schedule videos?

Yes. Give it a public https link to the video file and it attaches it to the post; the platform fetches the file when the post goes out, so the link has to still work then. A file uploaded into the chat cannot be used, because the platform has no way to fetch it.

Can Claude see how my posts performed?

Yes. It can read views, likes, comments, shares and saves for your published posts, per platform, and the numbers for your link-in-bio page. The numbers are the last ones KreatorMesh stored, not a live fetch, and each says when it was taken.

What can Claude not do?

It cannot create or delete API keys, manage your billing, or connect new social accounts — those need you signed in to the app. It cannot delete a post that has already been published, or one that belongs to a running hook test.

Does it work in Claude Code or Cursor?

Claude Code, yes: claude mcp add --transport http kreatormesh https://api.kreatormesh.com/api/mcp, then /mcp to sign in. Any other app that supports remote MCP servers can use the same address. There is also a skills package for coding agents: npx skills add orkuma-alex/kreatormesh-agent-mode.

What does it cost?

The connector itself is free to add. MCP access is on KreatorMesh’s Creator plan at $29 a month (15 connected accounts) and Pro at $49 (unlimited), after a 5-day trial with $0 due today. Claude’s free plan is enough to use one custom connector.

How is KreatorMesh different from other connectors?

Most connectors publish what the assistant wrote. KreatorMesh can also judge it: check_draft scores a caption against rules learned from hook tests on your own audience, and create_hook_test starts a new test from the chat. It is graded A on Glama and listed in the official MCP Registry.
